Baseball Recap: Dunlap Drops Season-High Score on Union Grove

Dunlap made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Union Grove, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles never let the Broncos get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Saturday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Landon Gray made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Dunlap is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-4 otherwise. Gray was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Dunlap got a massive performance out of Owen Shissler, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Those four runs gave Shissler a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Davis Weeks, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Dunlap was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .577. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Dunlap now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Union Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Dunlap will square off against Madison West at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Union Grove, they will head out on the road to challenge Westosha Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give the Broncos their first taste of in-conference action this season.
