Softball Recap: Weldon Chargers vs. Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars

In what's become a running theme this season, Weldon gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past the Rocky Mount Prep Jaguars 16-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Weldon.

The team relied heavily on Kamyrn Dixon, who fired off two home runs, three stolen bases, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Dixon is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's stolen at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Janelle Baker, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3.

Weldon's victory bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Rocky Mount Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.

Weldon will head out on the road to square off against Northwest Halifax at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwest Halifax is on a three-game streak of home wins, Weldon a five-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season)-- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Rocky Mount Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
