Soccer Game Preview: Goodpasture Christian vs. Davidson Academy

The Goodpasture Christian Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Davidson Academy Bears at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Goodpasture Christian lost 7-2 to McGavock on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Davidson Academy's offense. They came up short against Ensworth on Thursday, falling 9-0. While losing is never fun, Davidson Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee soccer rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Ensworth are ranked seventh).

Davidson Academy has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four games. As for Goodpasture Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-2-1.

Goodpasture Christian couldn't quite get it done against Davidson Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
