Softball Game Preview: Elba Tigers vs. McKenzie Tigers

We've got a battle between Tigers coming up.

Last Tuesday, Elba came up short against Brantley and fell 7-3. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ana Caldwell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for McKenzie, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Georgiana a 16-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Trenady Pierce was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Niyah Davison, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

McKenzie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .739. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

McKenzie's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Elba, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.

Everything went Elba's way against McKenzie in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, as Elba made off with a 22-0 victory. Does Elba have another victory up their sleeve, or will McKenzie turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
