Soccer Recap: Avalon Comes Up Short

Avalon was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Magnolia Science Academy Pirates. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 on January 14th.

Avalon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12-1. As for Magnolia Science Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4-3.

Avalon will welcome San Gabriel Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Magnolia Science Academy, they will head out to square off against Pacifica Christian at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Magnolia Science Academy's last four matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
