Baseball Recap: Real Life Christian Academy Snaps Eight-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Zephyrhills Christian Academy, Real Life Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Wildwood Wildcats. With that win, the Raptors brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Gavin Rose made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Real Life Christian Academy: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-5 otherwise.

In other batting news, Isaiah Navarro and Chris LaSalle did most of the damage at the plate: Navarro scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while LaSalle scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Navarro is becoming a predictor of Real Life Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 0-5 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Shane Riley, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Real Life Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They are 2-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Real Life Christian Academy's victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-6. As for Wildwood, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Looking ahead, Real Life Christian Academy will square off against Ocala Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wildwood, they will challenge Saint Francis Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
