Basketball Game Preview: Brother Rice Warriors vs. St. John's Jesuit Titans

Brother Rice is on a three-game streak of home wins, while St. John's Jesuit is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Brother Rice Warriors will host the St. John's Jesuit Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Brother Rice knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully St. John's Jesuit likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Brother Rice strolled past Central Catholic with points to spare, taking the game 82-67. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked fourth in Michigan, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 36th in Ohio), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, St. John's Jesuit took their matchup last Monday with ease, bagging a 66-30 win over Perkins. The Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Brother Rice's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for St. John's Jesuit, they are also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Brother Rice was able to grind out a solid win over St. John's Jesuit in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 64-51. Does Brother Rice have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. John's Jesuit turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
