Football Game Preview: East Forsyth Broncos vs. Madison County Red Raiders + Official Tickets

The East Forsyth Broncos will head out to challenge the Madison County Red Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

East Forsyth is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Eastside last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Broncos were dealt a 42-7 loss at the hands of the Eagles. The Broncos were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.

Meanwhile, Madison County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 47-41 W against the Warriors. The Red Raiders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Madison County's win came from a few key players East Forsyth will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mead McGinnis, who rushed for 51 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 109 yards on five of 14 attempts. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in August. Cason Hillsman was another key player, gaining 83 total yards.

Madison County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 295 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Walnut Grove only rushed for 141.

Madison County's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for East Forsyth, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Everything came up roses for East Forsyth against Madison County when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 42-14 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
