Softball Recap: Center Grove Comes Up Short

After flying high against East Central on Saturday, Center Grove came back down to earth. The Trojans fell just short of the Lake Central Indians by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. The game marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Center Grove got a good showing from Riley Fuhr, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fuhr has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Center Grove saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mae Munson, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Kiersten Hardin also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Center Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Lake Central, the win keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Center Grove will take on Martinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lake Central, they have already played their next contest, a 17-13 victory against East Central on the 12th.
