Soccer Recap: East Wake Academy Takes a Loss

East Wake Academy was the 2-1 winner over Franklin Academy when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 2-1 on Monday. That's two games in a row now that East Wake Academy have lost by just one goal.

Their goal came courtesy of Ian Murillo, who's now up to seven this season.

East Wake Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Franklin Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-1-1.

Coming up, East Wake Academy will square off against Roxboro Community at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Franklin Academy, they will challenge Heritage at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Heritage's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
