Baseball Recap: Marist Comes Up Short

If Marist was feeling good fresh off their 8-1 takedown of Chicago Washington last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The RedHawks lost 13-3 to the St. Laurence Vikings on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the RedHawks of the 10-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Marist saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Tommy Hosty was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Marist's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for St. Laurence, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-3.

Coming up, Marist will take on Chicago Mt. Carmel at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Laurence, they will square off against Trinity at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
