After a string of five wins, the Hammond Skyhawks's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a hard 55-37 fall against Heathwood Hall Episcopal. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hammond in their matchups with Heathwood Hall Episcopal: they've now lost four in a row.
It was another big night for Lauren Jacobs, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 12 rebounds for Heathwood Hall Episcopal. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Jacobs has scored at least a third of Heathwood Hall Episcopal's points. Another player making a difference was Sabreya Monsanto, who scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and seven steals.
Hammond's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 14-5. As for Heathwood Hall Episcopal, their victory was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3.
Hammond does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
