Soccer Recap: Lamar vs. Fountain Valley
After flying high against James Irwin last Saturday, Lamar came back down to earth. The Lamar Thunder lost 6-2 to the Fountain Valley Danes on Thursday. The Thunder were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Danes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2017.

Jesus Lopez scored both of Lamar's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 14 goals.
Lamar's loss dropped their record down to 6-5-1. As for Fountain Valley, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lamar will face off against Manitou Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lamar is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Fountain Valley, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Banning Lewis Academy at 4:30 p.m. on October 22nd.
