Nathan Powers put up the most strikeouts he's had over his last three games on Thursday. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Looking ahead, Powers and Briarcrest Christian will welcome Collierville at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Powers had to take a defeat the last time the two teams duked it out, losing their matchup back in March 2-0. If he drops another game like that, the outcome could be different this time around.
