Basketball Recap: North Clayton Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

North Clayton proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 21) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cedar Grove Saints, sneaking past 37-34. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Saints: they've now won three in a row.

Cedar Grove lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was M. McCutcheon, who posted 12 points and three blocks. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 14 times she's played. A Neals was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

North Clayton's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.0 points over those games. As for Cedar Grove, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season.
