Softball Recap: Trenton Comes Up Short

Trenton fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Roosevelt on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 10-9. The Trojans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Ashlynn Blank made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Olivia Soens, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

Trenton's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Roosevelt, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trenton will take on Taylor at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Roosevelt, they will challenge Pinckney at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
