Recap: Austin Achieve Polar Bears vs. Taylor Ducks
The Austin Achieve Polar Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 16th straight loss. They were outmatched by Taylor on the road and fell 72-3. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Austin Achieve in their matchups with Taylor: they've now lost four in a row.
Taylor found their leader in underclassman Madyson Mitchell, who scored 12 points along with six steals. Mitchell has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ansley Reed, who scored 15 points.
Austin Achieve's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-16. As for Taylor, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Austin Achieve will take on Caldwell at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Taylor, they will be playing at home against Manor New Tech at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Manor New Tech will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1163rd, while Taylor is ranked 342nd).
