Basketball Game Preview: New Plymouth Pilgrims vs. Melba Mustangs

New Plymouth hasn't had much luck against Melba recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The New Plymouth Pilgrims will take on the Melba Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. New Plymouth will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Friday, New Plymouth needed a bit of extra time to put away The Ambrose School. They slipped by the Archers 57-56.

Meanwhile, Melba came up short against Nampa Christian on Friday and fell 60-49. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New Plymouth's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points over those games. As for Melba, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

New Plymouth was able to grind out a solid victory over Melba in their previous meeting back in January, winning 59-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Plymouth since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
