Volleyball Recap: Penn Takes a Loss

If Penn was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mishawaka Marian on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Kingsmen lost 3-0 to the Benton HomeSchool Bucks on Wednesday.

While Penn was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Benton HomeSchool's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-15, 25-18.

Kelan Whitehouse paced Penn's offense, picking up eight kills. Whitehouse got some help from Jacoby Forbes and his 13 assists. Finally, Forbes was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Penn's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Benton HomeSchool, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Penn wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Mishawaka Marian on the 22nd. As for Benton HomeSchool, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Northridge on the 17th.
