Basketball Recap: Beaverhead County Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Beaverhead County waltzed into their match on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They claimed a resounding 65-27 win over the Butte Central Catholic Maroons. Given the Beavers' advantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while the Maroons are ranked 109th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Beaverhead County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.0 points over those games. As for Butte Central Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Beaverhead County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Butte Central Catholic, they will welcome Stevensville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Butte Central Catholic is facing Stevensville at the right time seeing as Stevensville is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
