Basketball Recap: Angel Hernandez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Woonsocket over Mt. Pleasant

Woonsocket was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They lost to the Mt. Pleasant Kilties at home by a 53-34 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Villa Novans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-39 on January 9th.

Several Villa Novans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Angel Hernandez, who posted 11 points. Hernandez is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Woonsocket's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Mt. Pleasant, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-6.

Woonsocket wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-47 defeat against Mt. Hope on the 27th. Mt. Pleasant has also already played their next contest, a 68-53 loss against Tolman on the 27th.
