Football Game Preview: Clay-Chalkville Cougars vs. Pinson Valley Indians + How To Watch

The Clay-Chalkville Cougars will square off against the Pinson Valley Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Clay-Chalkville has nine straight wins, Pinson Valley has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Clay-Chalkville made easy work of Oxford and carried off a 40-16 victory. Considering the Cougars have won eight contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Aaron Frye, who rushed for 104 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and also threw for 229 yards and one TD while completing 76.2% of his passes. Those 229 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Joshua Woods was another key player, gaining 149 total yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, Pinson Valley was not quite Pell City's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 24-21.

Pinson Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Clay-Chalkville, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.

Everything came up roses for Clay-Chalkville against Pinson Valley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 63-6 victory. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
