Basketball Recap: Wetumka Comes Up Short

After flying high against Weleetka back in December of 2024, Wetumka came back down to earth. The Wetumka Chieftains took a blow against the Stuart Hornets on Monday, falling 100-53. While losing is never fun, the Chieftains can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Hornets are ranked 17th).

Wetumka's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Stuart, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.

Wetumka won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against New Lima at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Stuart, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Canadian at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th.
