Basketball Game Preview: Gunderson Grizzlies vs. San Jose Bulldogs

The Gunderson Grizzlies will head out to face off against the San Jose Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Gunderson has three straight wins, San Jose has 17 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Gunderson is headed into the game having just posted their biggest victory since January 29, 2024 on Wednesday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 59-32 win over Hill. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Grizzlies have posted against the Falcons since February 17, 2017.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 82-37, which was the final score in San Jose's tilt against Leigh on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1440th, while the Longhorns are ranked 319th).

Gunderson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.4 points per game. As for San Jose, their loss dropped their record down to 1-17.

Gunderson was able to grind out a solid win over San Jose in their previous meeting back in January, winning 48-35. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gunderson since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
