Volleyball Recap: Caldwell Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Caldwell had already won seven in a row and they went ahead and made it eight on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Bridgeport Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Redskins also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Caldwell took every set by at least 16 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-3, 25-9.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Caldwell to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubrey Kress, who had seven aces. That's the most aces Kress has posted since back in September. Sophia Marshall was another key player, getting 32 assists and 11 aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Caldwell was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 25 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in five consecutive matches.

Caldwell's victory bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Bridgeport, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Looking ahead, Caldwell will be taking part in a tournament against Conotton Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bridgeport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
