Football Game Preview: Tyrone Golden Eagles vs. Huntingdon Bearcats

Two dominant backs in Caleb Whitby and Landon Erdman are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Tyrone Golden Eagles will face off against the Huntingdon Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tyrone will be strutting in after a win while Huntingdon will be coming in after a defeat.

If Tyrone beats Huntingdon with 28 points on Friday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Golden Eagles took down Chestnut Ridge 28-13 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Eagles.

Tyrone's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Emigh led the charge by picking up 44 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The dominant performance also gave Emigh a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (two). Eli Woomer made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Tyrone didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Chestnut Ridge to a completion percentage of just 40%. The Golden Eagles weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 50%.

Meanwhile, Huntingdon played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 42-13 loss at the hands of Richland. The defeat continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost three in a row.

Huntingdon suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 7-3. As for Tyrone, their record is now 6-4.

Tyrone took their victory against Huntingdon in their previous matchup on October 3rd by a conclusive 41-21 score. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Erdman, who rushed for 85 yards and two TDs on only seven carries. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Golden Eagles still be able to contain Erdman? There's only one way to find out.
