Basketball Game Preview: Onalaska Wildcats vs. Martins Mill Mustangs

The Onalaska Wildcats will square off against the Martins Mill Mustangs at 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Onalaska knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Martins Mill likes a good challenge.

Onalaska picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Warren 82-38. The Wildcats have beaten the Warriors the last five times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Warriors has come to flipping the script.

Meanwhile, Martins Mill was able to grind out a solid victory over Bishop Gorman on Friday, taking the game 76-67.

Onalaska better focus on containing Travis Baber and Ryder Marsh as the pair were huge in Martins Mill's win. Baber dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards, while Marsh dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points Baber has posted since back in December of 2024. Sawyer Moore was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Martins Mill was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. They racked up nine more assists than Bishop Gorman's also-impressive total of 12.

Martins Mill's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Onalaska, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
