Skidmore-Tynan skates past Yorktown with ease

There's no place like home for the Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They claimed a resounding 66-31 win over Yorktown at home. Given Skidmore-Tynan's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 752nd, while Yorktown is ranked 1705th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Skidmore-Tynan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cole Rivers, who scored 19 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Rivers has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Steven Garza, who scored 18 points along with five assists and three steals.

Skidmore-Tynan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-5 record this season. As for Yorktown, they are on a 19-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20.

Skidmore-Tynan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-39 victory vs. Three Rivers on the 9th. Yorktown has also already played their next contest, a 54-39 loss against Woodsboro on the 9th.
