Basketball Recap: Whitmire Falls Despite Big Games from Braylen Sartor and Kayshaun Schumpert

Whitmire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They came up short against the Calhoun Falls Charter Blue Flashes, falling 77-52. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wolverines this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-31 back in December of 2024.

Whitmire's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kayshaun Schumpert, who went 6 of 15 en route to 24 points, and Braylen Sartor, who posted 16 points and five boards. Those 24 points gave Schumpert a new career-high.

Whitmire's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Whitmire will take on Dixie at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Calhoun Falls Charter, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 84-47 defeat against Abbeville on the 25th.
