Taft has gone a perfect 10-0 against McFarland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Wildcats will challenge the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Taft is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Things were looking good for Taft after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Shafter by a score of 5-4. Wildcats fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Generals since on Thursday.

Rilynne Stenderup spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Taft saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kenadie Hale, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Another was Cierrah Franks, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, McFarland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 14-3 to Chavez, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

McFarland's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Taft, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.

Everything went Taft's way against McFarland when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Taft made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
