Case had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Somerset Berkley Regional Raiders. The Cardinals have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

Lila Alvarez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Breanna Fontes, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Preston, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Case pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Somerset Berkley Regional, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
