Basketball Game Preview: South Bend St. Joseph Huskies vs. Culver Academies Eagles

Having just played yesterday, the South Bend St. Joseph Huskies will jump right back in to play the Culver Academies Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Bend St. Joseph knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully Culver Academies likes a good challenge.

South Bend St. Joseph is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Mishawaka Marian as South Bend St. Joseph made off with a 69-47 victory. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Culver Academies blew past New Prairie, posting a 70-32 win. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 108th, while the Cougars are ranked 338th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Culver Academies has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points over those games. South Bend St. Joseph's victory bumped their record up to 22-3.

South Bend St. Joseph won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in February, slipping by Culver Academies 50-49. Does South Bend St. Joseph have another victory up their sleeve, or will Culver Academies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
