Baseball Game Preview: Monache Marauders vs. Redwood Rangers

Monache is 1-8 against Redwood since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Marauders will look to defend their home field against the Rangers at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Monache comes in on three and Redwood on four.

Monache took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against El Diamante, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Marauders had just enough and edged out the Miners 4-3.

Monache's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rolando Quinones, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Quinones a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Redwood won against Mt. Whitney on Thursday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Rangers were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over Porterville.

Redwood's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Monache, their win bumped their record up to 16-7.

Monache beat Redwood 5-1 in their previous meeting back in March. Do the Marauders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rangers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
