It was a good run, but Sands unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Klondike Cougars by a score of 41-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Mustangs have suffered since December 13, 2024.

Sands' defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 15-5. As for Klondike, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
