Basketball Game Preview: Flatirons Academy Bison vs. Arickaree Bison

The Flatirons Academy Bison are headed away from home for the first time to challenge the Arickaree Bison at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Arickaree took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Flatirons Academy, who comes in off a win.

Flatirons Academy is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Mile High Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Flatirons Academy blew Mile High Academy out of the water with a 56-26 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Bison had established a 26 point advantage.

Flatirons Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Annabelle Rakers, who went 14 for 27 on her way to 33 points and eight steals, and Claire Friedman, who went 8 of 11 on her way to 19 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Rakers has posted since back in December of 2023.

Meanwhile, Arickaree came up short against Genoa-Hugo/Karval on Thursday and fell 42-31. The Bison have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Arickaree now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Flatirons Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
