Softball Recap: West Henderson Snaps Nine-Game Streak of Wins at Home

West Henderson dropped their record down to 17-2 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's nine-game streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Franklin Panthers by a score of 3-2. The matchup marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Haley Littrell was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles.

Littrell wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kayden Lyda, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

As for Franklin, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games.

On Franklin's side, Suzanna Cabe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Meliah Mason, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Coming up, West Henderson will head out to challenge Tuscola at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
