Basketball Recap: Lebanon Trail Comes Up Short

Lebanon Trail was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Emerson Mavericks 77-44. While losing is never fun, the Trail Blazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 685th, while the Mavericks are ranked 199th).

When it comes to explaining why Lebanon Trail lost, don't look at Zade Shawwa. Despite the final result, he posted 13 points. Deniz Aral was another key player, putting up nine points.

Lebanon Trail's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Emerson, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9.

Lebanon Trail wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-41 defeat against Centennial on the 28th. As for Emerson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-60 loss against Memorial on the 28th.
