Basketball Game Preview: Pendleton Bulldogs vs. East Jackson Eagles

The Pendleton Bulldogs will take on the East Jackson Eagles in a holiday battle at at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Pendleton is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Pendleton had to suffer through a 80-49 loss at the hands of Franklin County.

Despite the loss, Pendleton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Samuel Ross went 6 of 12 en route to 19 points and seven rebounds. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Ross. The team also got some help courtesy of Garon Blalock, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, East Jackson came up short against Apalachee on Tuesday and fell 71-58. The Eagles have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

East Jackson now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Pendleton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Pendleton lost to East Jackson on the road by a decisive 65-51 margin in their previous matchup back in November of 2023. Can Pendleton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
