Football Recap: Jurupa Hills Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Jurupa Hills, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 29-22 victory over the Colton Yellowjackets on Friday.

JALEN WASHINGTON threw for 109 yards on only nine passes. ISRAEL LUNA was his top target, picking up 86 receiving yards. On the ground, GILBERTO CENTENO rushed for 116 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Colton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Koa Regalado, who threw for 129 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 76 yards on only six carries. Kalvin Leon was in the mix as well, providing Colton with two scores.

Jurupa Hills' win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Colton, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-3.

Jurupa Hills and Colton will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time Jurupa Hills sees the field they'll take on San Gorgonio at 7:30 p.m. on October 9. As for Colton, their break will end when they face Grand Terrace at 7:30 p.m. on October 9.
