It was a good run, but Herbert Hoover unfortunately witnessed the end of their 13-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Cabell Midland Knights by a score of 2-1. The Huskies were not able to make up for their loss to the Knights from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

Herbert Hoover started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The match finished with set scores of 0-25, 25-0, 15-0.

Braelyn Adkins and Olivia Huddleston certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Adkins had 14 digs and five aces, while Huddleston had seven digs and one assist. Adkins is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Herbert Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 17-2-1. As for Cabell Midland, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Herbert Hoover has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Huntington on the 17th. As for Cabell Midland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Philip Barbour on the 17th.
