Softball Recap: Sharpsville Has No Trouble Against Reynolds

While Sharpsville put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Reynolds. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Raiders. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Jordan Brest's shutout, as she gave up just four hits.

At the plate, Lily Palko was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Miah Applegarth, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Sharpsville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Sharpsville's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Reynolds, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sharpsville will challenge Mercer at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Reynolds, they will face off against Saegertown at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Raiders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 9 runs per game this season.
