Soccer Game Preview: Manistee vs. Oakridge

The Manistee Mariners will head out on the road to square off against the Oakridge Eagles at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Manistee will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each contest than the last.

Manistee's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Benzie Central as they made off with a 6-0 win. Manistee might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Oakridge was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They lost 6-0 to Whitehall. The loss continues a trend for Oakridge in their meetings with Whitehall: they've now lost four in a row.

Manistee's victory bumped their record up to 7-5-1. As for Oakridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9-1.

Manistee beat Oakridge by a goal when the teams last played back in September of 2024, winning 3-2. Do the Mariners have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
