Basketball Game Preview: Stargate School Eagles vs. Liberty Common Eagles

The Stargate School Eagles will challenge the Liberty Common Eagles at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Stargate School turned things around against Thornton on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 41-27 win over the Trojans.

Stargate School's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Soonjin Yoon, who posted ten points along with eight steals and five boards. Ava Ridgell was another key player, putting up four points along with six rebounds, five assists, and five steals.

Stargate School was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Liberty Common, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 36-35 win over Loveland Classical.

Stargate School better focus on containing Emily Geyser and Meghan Perschau as the pair were huge in Liberty Common's win. Geyser put up 14 points, while Perschau had nine points.

Stargate School's victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Liberty Common, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.

Stargate School was taken down by Liberty Common 54-27 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Stargate School avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
