Byron waltzed into their match on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Winona Winhawks a 3-0 shutout. The three-run effort marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Tallie Behrens made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, firing off two home runs and one stolen base while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.
