Softball Recap: Charter Oak's Undefeated Season over After 17 Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Charter Oak can now relate to. They fell just short of the Huntington Beach Oilers by a score of 8-7 on Thursday. The loss was the Chargers' first of the season.

Angalina Arcos made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Mikayla Diebert, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Charter Oak fell to 16-1. As for Huntington Beach, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Charter Oak does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Huntington Beach, they will host Chino Hills at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Oilers have won five straight at home, while the Huskies won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
