Basketball Recap: Texas Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Texas won the last time they faced Whitehouse and things went their way on Friday too. The Texas Tigers came out on top against the Whitehouse Wildcats by a score of 56-45. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Wildcats are ranked 759th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Texas is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Whitehouse, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-19.

Texas will face off against Nacogdoches at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Texas knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Nacogdoches likes a good challenge. As for Whitehouse, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Whitehouse Wildcats duke it out with the Mt. Pleasant Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
