Softball Recap: Wirt County Takes a Loss

Wirt County managed to slip by Calhoun the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Tigers lost 12-2 to the Red Devils on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Kylee Ross made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Wirt County's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-14. As for Calhoun, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-14 record this season.

Wirt County has already played their next matchup (against Gilmer County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Calhoun will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' contest: after the Tigers face off against the Titans, they'll take on Calhoun again at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
