Softball Recap: Hurricane Comes Up Short

Hurricane fell victim to Cabell Midland and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Redskins' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Kate Justice spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 22 consecutive appearances.

Hurricane's defeat dropped their record down to 21-5. As for Cabell Midland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-3 record this season.

Hurricane will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Spring Valley at 6:00 p.m. Cabell Midland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
