Basketball Preview: LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls vs. Clewiston Tigers
The LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls will play host again and welcome the Clewiston Tigers, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, LaBelle blew past the Wolfpack, posting a 70-25 win at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory LaBelle has managed all season.
Marissa Burchard continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 7-for-16 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 41 points and 12 steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of LaBelle's points. Another player making a difference was Latraevia Belvin, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Clewiston stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Glades Central 44-22. The win made it back-to-back wins for Clewiston.
LaBelle is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for Clewiston, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.
LaBelle and the Tigers were neck-and-neck when the teams last played two weeks ago, but the Cowboys/Cowgirls came up empty-handed after a 51-50 loss.
