Football Preview: Yulee Hornets vs. Fernandina Beach Pirates        
        
		
            Yulee has gone  a perfect 10-0 against Fernandina Beach recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Friday. After each having a week off,  the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out  at 7:00  p.m. Yulee will come into the  matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
Yulee gave up the first  points last Friday, but they didn't let that get them  down. They blew past Ribault 34-14. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 20  points or more this season.
Yulee got their  win on the backs of several key players, but it was  Jackson Visconti out in front who threw for 102 yards and a pair of  TDs on only eight passes.  Corbin Fletcher was another key back, rushing for 43 yards and one  score.

 Yulee didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Maddox Brooks and  Shamar Gibbs. Brooks also set a new season-high mark in  total tackles with seven. Yulee got some further help from  Turtle Ricks: he picked up  a  sack, forced one fumble,  and made ten total tackles (6.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Fernandina Beach came up short against West Nassau last Friday and fell  32-21. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Yulee will need to focus on slowing down  D'Ante Simms, one of several Fernandina Beach players who made an impact when they last played. He picked up 70 receiving yards and one  touchdown, and also rushed for 66 yards and one  TD. Simms was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was  Ian Miller, who threw for 228 yards and a pair of  touchdowns.
 Fernandina Beach's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Yulee, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
 Everything came up roses for Yulee against Fernandina Beach in their previous matchup  back in October of 2024, as the  squad secured  a  42-7 win. In that  contest, the Hornets amassed a halftime lead of  20-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat  on Friday.
